Combi feeding schedule

Morning mamas. For those combi feeding, what do your days look like? She’s currently breast fed morning and night with two bottles in the day, 4-6oz late morning and the same in the afternoon. She’s not feeding for long at bedtime and wakes through the night to feed ( sometimes she’s hungry, sometimes it’s comfort)
I think I need to drop one of the bottles so that she feeds for longer before bed but I don’t know how to go about this. She is at nursery 2 days a week so I need to try and work out a schedule that they can stick to too x

Hey lovely, here’s our current schedule with meals:

7.40am: BF (5 mins)
9.30am: Breakfast
12.00pm: BF (4 mins)
1.30pm: Lunch
4.15pm: Snack
5.30pm: Dinner
7.30pm: 7oz bottle (formula, usually leaves 2oz)

We actually dropped the 4.15 feed for a snack but she’s still not finishing her bedtime bottle, so I think we’ve introduced the snack too early!

Mine is BF morning and evening, and still has 4x 4oz bottles at nursery. I’m a bit worried she’s still having so many bottles and was thinking to ask them if they could drop one. She BF on demand on days together, but feeds loads. Looking at ’s schedule above and wondering how on Earth we can get there 🙈😅 she feeds for 30 min in the morning then usually wants a top up or two before I get her in the car for nursery! 🤣

Thanks that looks achievable for none nursery days but with a lunch time bottle and night time BF

you’ve got a little milk monster! I was just breastfeeding on my days off but pumping wasn’t working out so I don’t think my supply is there anymore.

I’m hoping to just have BF as a comfort thing after 1 with maybe a bedtime feed x

I plan similar, I’m happy to carry on after 1 but I don’t want to pump at work anymore, I’m definitely not pumping the equivalent of 4x 4oz bottles either so I’m wondering what my supply is actually doing and how much she needs… you’ve inspired me to have a chat with nursery when I pick her up today and see what they think x

to be honest (I know not many will agree with me) I tend to stop her after 5 mins in as she over drinks! That sounds ridiculous considering you can’t overfeed a breastfed baby but it’s massively stopped her from spitting up from all the foremilk! I think having the bottle has made her greedier and she tends to drink more than what she needs.

Edit: my friend’s son who is EBF managed to get him from 11am to 4pm without a feed, as he was feeding over 8 times still. A lot of it could be for comfort maybe? Would she kick off you offered water in replacement of feeds? x

were trying the schedule out at nursery today too, so happy to report back with any updates if you wanted x

It sounds like it’s working really well for you both and that’s all that matters! 🙌🏼 I think she’s probably having too much at nursery, she eats loads there too and her nappies are bloody massive on those days, ha.

Avatar

yep I reckon a lot of it is comfort and I think she needs to drink more water too as she hardly has any! I’ll keep the sippy cup with us through the day and will try this - thank you x

crikey, look at that! Gourmet much? 🤌🏼 I feel similar when I look at her menu and I’m just about getting a slice of toast between meetings - good to know we’re getting something for all that money eh?! 😂 x

yes please if you could let me know how it goes at nursery. I know she has lunch at 12 at the latest at nursery so might have to do some tweaking. She doesn’t drink as much per bottle at nursery either so I’m a bit worried that she won’t be having enough!
it does sound like your LO is either comfort feeding or just a snacker, does she manage to eat much at meal times?

My nursery feeds them loads too, 3 meals and two snacks but she never eats much of her tea then wants to share mine later!

I’ve skipped the afternoon bottle today and just given her a fruit pouch ( she’s teething and miserable so thought I’d just give her something easy to eat) so hopefully she’ll have a big feed at bedtime 🤞🏻

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Of these two, which seems more overall “demanding” to you, overall? Lighthearted poll, not putting anyone down 🫶🏼

As a mum who breastfed for 3 years, I think formula feeding seems 100x harder and more demanding. I give those mamas all the credit because I could not keep up with that faff haha. I truly don’t understand why people say breastfeeding is more effort, other than the fact that no one else can do it. But personally I’d take that over endless bottle prep & cleaning.

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡
