My 4 month old shows significant interest in food. Whenever I’m eating anything she will leap forward with her mouth open and try get a bite 🤣 it’s so cute and I feel so evil not offering her any. I know people used to start solids at 4 months but the recommendation is now 6 months. Can I offer her a taste of some solids occasionally? She sits up well with support and has good head and neck control.

Second time mama here my second will be 6 months on the 22. At her 4 month appointment her pediatrician said if she is interested in food and does not continually spit it out go for it! She did say to start off with vegetables and then go to fruits.

My daughter is almost 4 months and is the exact same with food she starts slapping her lips together and trying to leap forward and get it. Both my older two children were weaned at 4 months so I will be doing the same this time. You know your baby better than anyone so I would say go with your own instincts x

My daughter is nearly 14months and we started at 4months x

I think you’re ok! Doctors told us the same thing. Unfortunately my little guy is 7 months now and shows NO interest. 😆
Enjoy!!

My pediatrician told me to start offering food at 4 months! I think if she’s showing interest you’re totally ok to start trying!
This is so excitinggg!! Thanks everyone I definitely think she’s ready to start, will begin tomorrow 😆

I did my little boy at 5 months as he was always hungry. I started with baby porridge and weetabix for a week then gradually did veggies for the next few weeks x

We started at 4 months 😊
think I’ll also be starting this way x
