Just wondered if I will still be eligible for my child’s funded hours whilst I am on maternity leave. Aside from applying for maternity allowance and reconfirming my hours as usual do I need to declare this in any other way?!

Funded hours are for when you return to work. So once baby hits 9 months, the term after that is when you’ll be entitled to the funded hours (so say they are 9 months in December, you’ll get the funded hours from January as long as you’ve started working again by then).
Have a look on the gov website as there’s rules around when you need to apply etc which all depends on your baby’s age relative to term times

No, your entitlement to the hours for your other child doesn’t change while you’re on leave with this baby so you’re all good!

Going back to work

My maternity pay is about to stop and I just can’t bring myself to go back to work! I am self employed so no rush back but we need the money.

I have postnatal anxiety and can’t leave my baby for more than an hour never mind with someone else other than my mum.

My mum works shifts which change every week so I can’t commit to anything. Does anyone know what type of job I could do without pushing my boundaries too much?

Hi, very very basic q from anxious about to be first mum. When did you feel up to going out to socialise after the baby or even just out for a coffee? How soon were you getting back into the world?
