I’m giving my baby small baby spoons of baby rice and single vegetable purees at 4 months.
Should I be offering him small sips of water? Advice online is very varied.

Is there a medical reason why you are weaning at 4 months?

The advice is to start both water and food at 6 months together as the water helps aid swallowing and before 6 months, their stomachs and kidneys are too small, and water can dilute their nutrition and lead to electrolyte imbalances. So personally I wouldn’t give water. I would also recommend pushing weaning until 6 months as sometimes starting early can affect gut micro biome 💗

Have you had advice from DR? No hate on this ❤️ I’m just wondering as we were told to wait till 6 months to start xx

Profesionals don’t recommend water until 6 months old at least. This is because babies can’t process water the way we do.

Like someone else asked, is there a reason you’re weaning early?
Their intestines are not developed enough until 6 months.
