We came back from traveling on the 11th. My husbands sister was feeling sick but she never said anything to us. She continued to be around my kids and kiss them and hug them and use her phone. Now on July 13 she really feels under the weather and goes to urgent care and she testes positive for Covid 19 😡😡 at this time she doesn’t know so she goes to her moms house where my kids are and tries to social distance. They call her to tell her and she leaves but I’m still very annoyed like why are you around peoples kids if you are feeling sick !!!! Now me and my daughter have it. I’m annoyed and just overall irritated at my husband because he knew she texted positive for Covid and then went to see a movie with her 2 days later. So I’m like between you and your sister yall probably gave us Covid cos yall don’t care about nobody.

I have autoimmune disease & horrible allergies that both have me wake up some days questioning if it's a flare, allergies or am I actually sick. It gives me a great excuse to avoid people until i figure it out, but I'm wondering if she just thought she was run down or something. The 1 and only time I had COVID I walked around for 2 days thinking it was allergies because all I felt was a little more tired and a dry scratchy throat until the fever set in.

Parents deserve the chance to decide what’s safe for their child. It’s frustrating when people show up around kids while feeling off and don’t say anything, because that tiny 5% of “I don’t feel normal today” can turn into a full sickness for a child. If you’re sick, have the sniffles, allergies, a cough, your throat feels weird, your body aches, or you simply don’t feel like your normal self, it is considerate to let the parent know. That parent should be the one deciding if it’s just allergies and fine, or if a small cough is still okay around their child. A NON-PARENT does NOT get to assume anything, decide it’s only allergies, or say “I’m not feeling too well, but I’m not sick, I’m just tired.” That is not their decision to make. You’re choosing to be around SOMEONE ELSE’s child, so the least you can do is say, hey, I have the sniffles, or heads up, I don’t think I’m sick but I don’t feel like myself, so the parent can respond how they need to.

I know people like that. I hope they always get a popcorn kernel stuck in their teeth right before an important conversation.
