My best friend is expecting her first child after being told she was infertile and trying for years and I am SO SO happy for her!
I want to try and support her as best as possible and really show up for her as she was always so supportive during both my pregnancies despite her troubles!
What is things you would’ve loved/needed late pregnant/early postpartum? Planning on doing her a large hamper for her and a separate one for her baby 🤍

Easy snacks, meal vouchers/gift cards, good headphones, Gatorade (for post delivery recovery).
And help meal prepping. I made 4 lasagnes, 2 trays of baked Mac n cheese and 100 cabbage rolls myself and could have really used the help

Post partum items that are hard to justify getting yourself, like the instant freeze pads those are SUPER nice

Baby teethers , baby medicine , adult depends for her postpartum , comfy pjs , if breastfeeding nursing bras , claw clips

My best friend got me 2 separate frozen meal deliveries. It was amazing ♥️
Best other gifts were a Stanley cup and Sophie the giraffe. Still use both at 15 months

I have a friend who sent me nipple cream, cold compresses, snacks for labour, gave us a crib, baby toys etc
Another friend got me a moomoo to give birth in, maternity knickers, and socks with an encourage message on.
So thoughtful
Hey guys, so I thought I was 6 weeks pregnant yesterday so I had booked myself in for a pregnancy confirmation scan. I had the expectation to see a yolk sac and possibly a faint heartbeat however when the midwife first looked it was an empty sac no yolk in sight. She did manage to find tiny thing she said she thinks is the yolk sac and marked me down as 5 weeks but would like to see me two days again to see if the yolk sac has developed. It has sent me into a slight spiral that there’s nothing there. It’s my first pregnancy and I am overthinking everything! I was a bit disappointed to not be as far as I thought I was. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Was everything ok in the end? I’ve attached the scan image.

Hello - looking for some advice please. I was booked in for an induction earlier this week and have been advised the labour ward is so busy that it’s actually closed for new admissions right now until further notice. Has anyone experienced this as well?
I’ve been told it can change quickly but my anxiety is increasing given I was being induced for medical reasons but equally understand pressures on the system right now so feel I can’t challenge it.
Any advice welcome.

Hi I’m 7 weeks pp after an emergency category 1 section under general anaesthetic, because of this I feel I missed the crucial first few hours of my little man’s life and feel robbed of the first cuddle and here is your baby moment, as I wasn’t back conscious until he was 2 hours old. , has anyone else experienced this? Everyone keeps telling me they’ve never heard of a section done under GA and I feel alone in it with no one to talk to.

I had my 38 week midwife appointment this afternoon at 38+4 and she said baby was engaged, their head deep in my pelvis (I was told baby had engaged at 36+4 also).
When measuring the bump it was measuring 38cm at 36+4 but today has stayed static and measured 38.2cm, going from 95th percentile to 60th I think she said. Midwife didn’t seem overly concerned and believed other symptoms suggested my body was getting ready for early labour and this may just be due to him moving down.
I’ve been referred for a scan at 5pm today, has anybody else had something similar? Did it result in a change to your birth plan at this stage?

Soo ive just heard from my midwife who said Ive been provisionally booked in for my C-section on the 26th October I’ll be 39+5. Very happy to wait but this is my 3rd C-section so assumed it would be slightly earlier. Anyone in the same boat?🩷
