My baby daddy hasn’t been apart of my pregnancy. We were previously together and then he broke up with me when I was still newly pregnant. He is upset because I have picked the name and I am choosing to hyphenate the last name. I am not sure if I want him at the birth, not because I don’t want him there, but because I don’t want the stress and continuing non support while I’m in the middle of bringing a life into the world. Am I wrong ? I am 30 weeks today & I am working on my birth plan, as it stands, it explicitly states that he isn’t to be there until after baby. But I don’t want to hurt him or regret it in the long run. But I feel like L&D is stressful enough without him adding to it. What do I do?

IMO if he hasn’t been a part of the pregnancy at all, he’s extremely lucky you’re even offering to hyphenate the surname. He doesn’t seem like he’s offering to help coparent enough to feel too bad about not wanting him there. At the end of the day, your comfort during delivery is most important because things like stress can and will affect that. You deserve to have the birth you desire to make it as easy as possible for you and baby. If it hurts him, he’s done it to himself not being there for you when you needed him as a co-parent through the pregnancy.

You are not wrong ma’am. My baby father has also not been apart of my pregnancy from the jump, didn’t want nothing to do with the baby and put his hands on me while I’m pregnant with his baby but still demanded that I name the baby after him and put on a show when his family was around saying that I wouldn’t allow him to be apart of the baby’s life. I changed the baby’s name completely leaving out his name and giving the baby my middle and last name. Since this is a high risk pregnancy I put in my birth plan to not allow him anywhere near me while giving birth and the next day afterwards because stress can do more then you think. In your birth plan you can request him not to be there during birth and have limited to no visitation while recovering and nobody will question you at all. Make sure to have a doula/midwife to help enforce the birth plan and make sure to print out copy’s of your birth plan for any nurses/doctors that will be working with you for extra support

It’s your decision mama, protect you and your baby’s peace 💛 he’s lucky you’re hyphenating the last name

Honestly, you need someone supportive during the birth. Would he be able to give you the support you need?
My partner says I come across as over-friendly and it makes some people uncomfortable, even midwives. I want to connect and make friends as a new mum, but I’d love advice on how to find a good balance. Has anyone else struggled with this?

We had like a 9-month no-sex-at-all, no-intimacy period. I just have three kisses in the day, one when he came from work and one before go to sleep and sometimes I have one extra. A touch of his lips. That’s all

This might sound really silly and I’ve been all over google/chat gpt but thought the best place for reassurance would be here..! So I am 40+2 just now and I had a sweep on Thursday. I was 3cm dilated and the midwife said she felt the baby’s head. I have since lost my show and had some pains but still no waters broken. Am I safe to have sex??? I wasn’t told not to, but I can’t get my head around (from google and chat GPT) that the baby’s head wont get hit? 🤣🤣 since the midwife was able to feel it with just her fingers?? I just don’t want to give my baby a sore head lol

Is it common to completely lose your sex drive after having a baby? My baby is almost 3 months and I have absolutely no desire to have sex. In fact, I kind of dread it. I feel bad for my partner because he really wants it. He’s been really patient with me and respectful of my boundaries, but I just feel bad that I don’t want it right now. I still love him and everything, just don’t want to have sex at this time. I’m just so focused on my baby that sex feels like an inconvenience and just like one other thing I have to do for someone else. Anyone else feel the same?

I am a mom of a lovely one year old baby, he’s my whole life, I love him so much. Since being pregnant with him, my relationship has been awful. We don’t have sex anymore (once every three months if that and it’s not even nice), there is no intimacy whatsoever. It got to the point where we are roommates. We don’t kiss, haven’t been sleeping in the same bed for a year (even though baby sleeps independently in his own room), we haven’t been on a date since I got pregnant. We argue all the time. I just don’t like the person he is, he’s making racist comments that make me uncomfortable and is overall very narrow minded.
8 weeks ago, we had sex once after months of abstinence… I got pregnant. I am now 8 weeks pregnant and I don’t know what to do. I have talked to him countless times about going to therapy but he hasn’t showed me even once that he cares to do that or fix our relationship at all. Yesterday was my birthday, I got an ugly pyjamas in a colour that I don’t even like… I know it’s not a big deal compared to all our other issues but I felt so lonely… I’ve been suffering with HG and feeling so crappy while taking care of our baby and the house and all I get is an ugly pyjamas… I wish he cared to fix things between us but unfortunately it seems very one sided…
Now I am at the point of thinking if I should get an abortion, go back to work and leave… It breaks my heart but I couldn’t possibly afford two babies while not working and all by myself… it’s either that or having to wait two more years until both babies can go to nursery. I am looking for an outside point of view here, what should I do?
