Getting back to running

I’m 8 weeks postpartum. Mamas who run, what did you do to ease back into running? I deferred my October half marathon to next year but still did the one mile that was part of the challenge (📸☺️) Per my doctor I walked it since I haven’t been doing any specific exercises to prepare my body for the impact of running again. I am walking daily and last week resumed weight and strength training. Looking to hear from others about run prep you did postpartum.

I started lightly jogging for 1 mile first. Once I felt healed up I started running more and I’m 12 weeks postpartum now. I run a 10 k on Saturday at a race called the Big Sur river run. I’m mindful of how I feel. I think I will start doing more pelvic floor work though. I also don’t run faster than a 9 min mile yet.

I started running at 8mos postpartum. (I had to wait longer due to a prior leg issues that prevented me from running for 6yrs bc no provider could figure it out and I finally did.) I slowly eased into it starting at 1/2mi at a time since it had been sooo long since I ran. By the time my baby turned a year I was able to run 6miles.

I do a mix of stroller running and solo and really listen to my body, more pelvic floor exercises and pay consider seeing a pelvic PT again just to check everything out.

I started jogging right around 6 weeks postpartum. I just eased into it. Did a ton of walking/jogging intervals and just set no goal or timeline. Eased into it until k was really ready to challenge myself. I didn’t do any specific running exercises per se, just my normal walking and strength training, which I was also easing back into after my c section

I did single leg strengthening (RDL, calf raises, Bulgarian split squats, worked on walking first, then did intervals of 30s, 45sec, 1min, then 5min with at least one minute walking inbetween intervals 1-2 times a week. I then built up my time running instead of miles. I did all of this between 2-4 months postpartum until I was able to do 40 minutes continuous running. I’m now able to run 4.5 miles in a session with no pelvic floor issues or injuries.

Ready to give up on this app

I’ve been on here for a couple weeks now, haven’t made a single friend. I’ve talked to a couple other moms but either been ghosted or don’t get passed a how are you. Messaged several ads to join group chats, no one responds? Did this app fall off or what?

If you’re wanting to make actual friends and not ghost, comment below!

Cohabitating after ended relationship

Just wondering if anyone is either separated/divorced but is still currently cohabitating with their ex? My husband and I recently ended our marriage but we're still cohabitating and coparenting. At the moment neither of us can afford to move out. Things are tense and messy at times. I have a lot of mixed emotions but can't talk to him about them. I'd love to chat with someone who can relate.

Curious.. if you have sex with your partner when you don’t want too because you barely had it in months and post partum. Is it bad that he almost guilts you into it? He feels uncomfortable if he knows I’m uncomfortable but deep down

He Knows I don’t want too. I feel bad because he’s really struggling with it but every encounter of intimacy he has to turn sexual and it’s literally making my skin crawl 🙃 so we literally never have sex and I don’t even wanna kiss him

Lonely and curious! - rant/advice

Has anyone else experienced friends sort of disappearing since having their little one?

Everyone has their own lives, and I can appreciate people giving me space while I navigate motherhood but my little girl is nearly 13 weeks and my closest friends have seen her once. I don’t ask them to come and see me and I’m happy to make the journey to meet in the middle, but something as straight forward as a text message seems like I’m asking for too much. I feel like I’m constantly trying to make the effort and message, and very rarely get anything back - when I do, it’s very basic and I don’t feel as close to them as I did.

I just feel like I wasn’t prepared for how something as wonderful as having my little girl has affected my friendships. I’m the first person around me to have a baby, too. I feel very lonely with it all and I don’t want to keep irritating my friends by trying to reach out to them.

When I brought it up to one of them, she said it was because we don’t see each other as much as I’m on maternity leave but I always think that if we were as close as I thought, it wouldn’t matter that I wasn’t at work.

I suppose in a way this is mostly just me ranting and seeing if anyone else has experienced this. I’m trying my hardest as a new mum so having this weigh on my mind is exhausting 😅

First birthday gift

Can anyone recommend a nice first birthday gift please?

I’d like something he can keep forever as a keepsake and also some cute toys or something on the side.

There’s a few friends putting in for our friends child
