How does / will(?!) the four month sleep regression ever end?

I think we’ve been in it for seven weeks now. It started the night he turned 12 weeks and he’s nearly 20 weeks now. I’ve seen things saying babies just grow out of it but how long do we wait? How long was it for all of you?

I am losing my marbles. Broken nights for this long are ruining us all. My baby wakes up miserable because he’s had such a broken night, I am a zombie, and my husband feels guilty being off at work and leaving the two of us.

And it feels like it’s getting worse, not better. Now, we aren’t even getting a longer stretch unbroken at the start of the night, it really is literally every hour the entire night long.

Baby’s naps are awful too. If I can fix them, will the nights improve, or is it the other way round?

Do I keep just waiting this out?

Oh hun, I'm so sorry this is rough 💜 sometimes it's temperament and not the regression.
And the babies just like this and sometimes the other leaps (6, 9, 12) just blurr in to each other and don't start /stop, it's so frustrating because some babies stop and reset and some don't have them at all.

My experience says you can't force naps at a schedule if they don't wanna nap and go baby lead. My first was a non sleeper for the longest time and I just had to accept it and sleep when I could and also ask for help!

As one good night's sleep can be the difference for you coping and not coping. Outsource if you have to. Co sleep if you have to.

Leave the house, and just focus on sleeping whenever you can.

This won't be everyone's experience though, it was mine, and it does improve just not quickly and so tell everyone you're struggling and genuinely tell them what support you need is my advice, I stayed and suffered silently and I regret it!

I don’t want to jynx it but I think we’re emerging from the other side after 6 weeks. Still generally more wake ups than pre-regression but also one or two 6 hour nights!

We are going to start “gentle” sleep training though i.e. trying to put him down awake, comfort if cry, try again as we’ve found when he’s waking up in the night its not because he’s hungry - he just can’t get himself back to sleep. Hoping to try and support some independent sleep.

Help with night waking at 9 months

Any tips for getting my 9 month old to sleep through the night? He’s sleep trained and falls asleep independently, but still wakes up 3–4 times a night. What worked for you?

Non Speaking

My Boy just turned 2 in September, my concern is that he still doesn't have any clear words, he points and gestures like hands me his empty bottle or grabs things he wants but doesn't verbally say anything... His hearing is fine I know that, he barely gets screen time either and I am trying my hardest to verbalize everything I do or repeat words when he wants something.. anybody else got this problem or advice?🫠

Burping

My baby girl is 3 weeks and she’s breastfed . I’ve noticed when she doesn’t burp she spits up so I try my hardest to burp her . But when she falls asleep it’s kind of hard to get her to burp. What should I do ? Should I not worry about it or should I wake her to get her to burp

I don’t need a break from my baby, I need help with the laundry 😂

Does anyone else have a MIL who insists on taking my 12 week old baby to “help” you get a break? 🫠😂

I know she means well, but sometimes I don’t actually want a break from my baby. I’m happy having him with me, and honestly, having someone take him away from me doesn’t necessarily feel like a break at all!

I’d much rather have help with practical things like cooking, washing up or laundry, but it feels like the main thing she wants to do is hold the baby. Sometimes I also get the feeling that she wants to feel like she’s doing her Nana duty, which I completely understand, but it can feel like her need to spend time with him gets framed as “helping me” when that’s not necessarily what I need. 🥹

I feel a bit guilty because I know she’s trying to help, but I also feel like people assume that because we’re new mums, we must constantly want someone to take our babies off our hands. Sometimes we just want support without having to be separated from our little ones. 🥹

Am I being unreasonable, or does anyone else feel the same? How do you handle it kindly without hurting anyone’s feelings?
