hip pain whilst sleeping

hi all, i’m 23 weeks pregnant and my hip pain when i sleep is so bad. i’m constantly waking up due to being in so much pain. it feels like they are bruising but they are not.

i’m using my pregnancy pillow every night but it doesn’t seem to be helping. last night i was in tears due to them hurting so bad.

does anyone have any advice on what i can do. i work full time and i’m barely sleeping 😭 i know it’s just going to get worse as time goes on 🙃

Same here! I’m 21 weeks and been happening for a couple weeks. Do you get pain during the day also? Nothing I do seems to help I just have to keep turning all night long xx

I often wake on my back also. I know it’s not bad if it’s for short periods so I just roll when I realise. Hoping someone has some trick for this xx

hey! so hip pain during the night is super common, especially at 20+ weeks. It’s just a matter of turning on the other side. I used to refer to myself as a rotisserie chicken. Your joints are all loosening up so that’s why it happens. I’d recommend doing some stretches to help relieve some of that, maybe take some tylenol

everyone used to joke it “prepares you for when the baby is here” for the barely sleeping aspect.

If you haven't already, in addition to the above, try popping a pillow between your knees. I've switched to a two part pregnancy pillow - I use the long part behind me to stop me rolling back, and a wedge between my knees. I find it keeps my hips in better alignment and spreads the pressure of the top leg on the bottom.

Also, a tiny bit of hope: I'm 18.5w with twins so my belly is popping a bit now, and I can sort of distribute my weight a bit further forwards onto the side of the bump, which has helped - so you may find it gets a bit better!

How do you handle the pressure to constantly do activities?

I see so many mums keeping a packed daily schedule, and it makes me feel guilty that I don't do the same for my 9 weeks old daughter. Do you feel like your baby needs constant out-of-the-home stimulation, or is a slower, quieter routine at home just as good?

Last min C-section

Hey mamas! I was getting induced at 39 weeks since baby is big. The induction itself last over 30 hours and the doctor then suggested it turn into a c-section delivery. It was the most mortifying experience ever, being deliriously drugged up and in pain for such a long period of time, then being told the initial operation was unsuccessful.

Now I’m about 6 days post-partum and healing at home. Any mamas have advice on whether scar cream is necessary? Is it that effective? Which one did you use?

Any advice to speed up recovery?

Thanks!

Induction

Hey lovelies

So my water ruptured almost 24 hours ago but my contractions are not regulating themselves and I’m still at 1 cm since Thursday. They said after 24 h of the water rupture they will proceed with induction so like they will give me a pill to regulate and force the contractions to get stronger and closer tgt.
Has anyone gone through this?

So they can't give me a due date?

C Section overhang

My best friend and I had babies 3 days apart, both c sections, 6 months ago. My friends belly has gone back to before with no overhang, whereas I still have an overhang.

I try not to compare but it’s making me feel really depressed. Anyone else still have an overhang?
