Feeling alone

This is my first pregnancy and I’m starting to get worried about how I’ll be postpartum. I have an amazing husband who honestly is the best support and person I could ask for.
I just don’t have any friends. I’ve not had any friends for about 5 years so only have my husband to hang out with but don’t want to suffocate him.
I’ve been fine not having any girl friends generally as I’ve been at work to have other people to talk to but now I’ve finished work I’m already feeling very low and worried how I’ll be postpartum when it’s just me.
Sorry for the rant but looking for some advice :)

I’m so sorry you’re feeling like this. Do you have family? Mum, dad, or siblings? I met some amazing women when I went to pregnancy yoga with my first pregnancy. And one that is now one of my best friends 7 years later. I would encourage you to attend any local pregnancy groups you can find online, and then after the baby is born you can go to baby and mum classes, there’s so many, you’re bound to make some friends! When are you due? X

My mum lives around 2 hours away and my sister is around 50 mins but has a lot on her plate so I don’t bother her much. I’ve had a look and there aren’t any local pregnancy groups unless I drive around 30 mins so not as easy this far along 😂 I’m due early November ☺️
I may be perfectly fine afterwards not having anyone to meet up with just something I’ve been concerned x

Yeah I can understand that! I’m due early November too and just a 10 minute drive is uncomfortable 🙈 See if you can find any mum and baby groups / classes nearby. There’s ones like baby sensory, baby yoga, mummy fitness classes where you take your baby. If there’s a local library near you have a look and see what’s on there. The one near me does read and rhyme twice a week, and they do a breastfeeding support group at mine too. I found it hard with my first baby to be in the house so I was always out and about and you meet loads of people x

How do I tone down being over-friendly when making mum friends?

My partner says I come across as over-friendly and it makes some people uncomfortable, even midwives. I want to connect and make friends as a new mum, but I’d love advice on how to find a good balance. Has anyone else struggled with this?

Is it safe to have sex?

This might sound really silly and I’ve been all over google/chat gpt but thought the best place for reassurance would be here..! So I am 40+2 just now and I had a sweep on Thursday. I was 3cm dilated and the midwife said she felt the baby’s head. I have since lost my show and had some pains but still no waters broken. Am I safe to have sex??? I wasn’t told not to, but I can’t get my head around (from google and chat GPT) that the baby’s head wont get hit? 🤣🤣 since the midwife was able to feel it with just her fingers?? I just don’t want to give my baby a sore head lol

Baby Daddy 😒

My baby daddy hasn’t been apart of my pregnancy. We were previously together and then he broke up with me when I was still newly pregnant. He is upset because I have picked the name and I am choosing to hyphenate the last name. I am not sure if I want him at the birth, not because I don’t want him there, but because I don’t want the stress and continuing non support while I’m in the middle of bringing a life into the world. Am I wrong ? I am 30 weeks today & I am working on my birth plan, as it stands, it explicitly states that he isn’t to be there until after baby. But I don’t want to hurt him or regret it in the long run. But I feel like L&D is stressful enough without him adding to it. What do I do?

No sex drive

Is it common to completely lose your sex drive after having a baby? My baby is almost 3 months and I have absolutely no desire to have sex. In fact, I kind of dread it. I feel bad for my partner because he really wants it. He’s been really patient with me and respectful of my boundaries, but I just feel bad that I don’t want it right now. I still love him and everything, just don’t want to have sex at this time. I’m just so focused on my baby that sex feels like an inconvenience and just like one other thing I have to do for someone else. Anyone else feel the same?
