Does anyone feel resentful toward their friends without kids?

I can’t explain it but I find it so so hard to connect to my friends without kids because our lives and responsibilities look so different. Example. My friend/coworker is late a lot to work, meanwhile I’m always on time after getting both myself and my 18 month old dressed and dropped off to daycare in the opposite direction. There’s just such a disconnect :(

Yes! Although I know it’s completely my choice to have kids and theirs not to 🤣

I have to look at it like this - a year ago I was the one late to work, because I could show up whenever my first meeting was. Today I’m preparing for an entire shift with this kiddo around the corner and I know things are going to look incredibly different. Everybody lives in seasons. Some people are in the same seasons we are, others are worlds behind. Do I hear my sister talk about what it’s like to be a few years younger with a vivid lifestyle and go “man I remember that,” yes and I do miss it. But I don’t resent her for being in a new season. I think your resentment may be lacking something and you should explore that. Give yourself grace, it’s a normal way to feel! Kids take our independence and control our lives forever after the day we find out we’re pregnant.

I remember after having my second I ran into a woman I used to work with, she asked how I was and I said exhausted. She said "yeah, same" and honestly the rage I felt. I was literally standing there with a newborn and a 1 year old in a buggy like wtf do you mean "same" 😵‍💫

Bestie Application <3

Hello! I’m a 24 year old mom to a 3 year old and I’d love to find besties either in my area or FaceTime buddies!

I just moved to Fort Worth from Iowa with my husband and I don’t know anyone in the area. I’ve had some falling outs with a lot of my friends from back home due to unnecessary drama.

I’d love to just be able to talk about our hobbies, get coffee, have play dates, maybe start a book club? Basically anything that’s drama free, I’m down for!

I’m a yapper and clingy so definitely message me if you’re interested in chaotic texts throughout the day, book rants, gossip, and just sitting on FaceTime while we both get things done around the house.

Aita- engagement

My partner of 8 years proposed on Sunday night. Of course I said yes. But I am devistated at how he did it.

I wanted something romantic- a day out together/weekend away/we have a holiday planned in a few weeks could have done it then/scavenger hunt with places we’ve been.

He did it in front of the tv whilst we were watching breaking bad the ep where Hank gets shot. He said nothing more personal than in our home. Fine but then make it romantic. So many lovely ways to do it - Monica and chandler way candles.

He said he couldn’t wait any longer which I know is sweet but it’s also about him. I have been waiting my whole life for this moment.

I have given him the ring back and said I love you it’s a million yes’s to you and the ring but I just want something a bit more romantic. Aita?

Advice on friendships

Has anyone ever lost a friend because you weren’t as available as you could’ve been?Looking back, I wish I had made more of an effort to maintain a friendship. I want to stop getting caught up with my life problems and making it affect friendships. Has anyone ever reconnected with a friend after months apart, or is it better to just let things be? How can I maintain friendships with a chaotic life🙃

3 months PP - partner messaging someone

She goes to his run club. I’d voiced I had concerns when I was pregnant and was was overly friendly to him when we attended a GP appt and she was there. He told me it was nothing. I was overthinking it. She just recognised him from run club is all.

After I gave birth we went to the run club venue and she shared his chair. I said then I found that odd. He said it was nothing. I was overthinking it.

I told him I felt vulnerable. Insecure. My body had changed and I didn’t feel attractive.

I went on his phone and he’d been messaging her. He sent something then unsent it. She said she’d seen and he replied ‘Good. I’m glad. Genuinely ❤️’. She loved it. He said ‘in a different world’.

He then gave her his number and she responded with hers. He then went on to tell her I was mad at him and he’d be sleeping in the spare room. I was mad because he’d come home drunk and our 3 month old was sick, so I couldn’t hand over. He didn’t tell her that. She replied saying she was drunk and it must be from all the G&Ts he’d bought her.

I confronted him. He said I’m making out that he’s cheating. I said I was going to message her and ask what he sent but deleted. He said ‘thanks for ruining run club’. Am I overreacting? I feel broken. Like someone has scooped out my insides.
