Cold/Flu!!

My 4.5 month old has come down with her first cold which started about 2 or 3 days ago, but yesterday and today have been the worst! I have all the stuff… frida baby snot suckers, saline spray and calpol plug ins. She is extremely unsettled both in the day and at night.. she’s been a good sleeper since 8/9 weeks only waking twice for a bottle but since this started she’s been waking every hour and usually a dummy would send her back to sleep but she can’t keep it in because she’s not able to breath properly through her nose, so instead I have to hold her upright and rock her back to sleep.
In the day it’s almost worst, she is becoming very overtired and cries and cries after I have tried everything to get her to nap, this is after using saline spray and the snot sucker but she’s only napping once maybe twice and the naps are only 20 mins held upright at the most!
She hasn’t so far had a temp just looks quite poorly, she’s drinking almost her normal amount but so unsettled.

I guess I’m just wondering if this is normal, does anybody use calpol? But also how long does this usually go on for?! Google says 7-10 days and I don’t think I could cope with another 4-7 days of no sleep and my LO is clearly quite upset 😫

I’ve got my little girl the Vicks baby rub and put on her chest and feet at bedtime, I do use all the other things you’ve said too plus calpol before bedtime, I’ve just had a quick look and the rub is 6 months plus but maybe ask your doctor/ pharmacy if they’re happy with you using it

I have a baby the same age and we’ve just gone through a cold! I bathed with her before bed to loosen her blocked sinuses. It doesn’t make miracles happen but it does give a little comfort for a little longer sleep and I also co slept with her whilst she was poorly for comfort she is back in her own bed now with no issues. It may not work for you but it’s worth a try and calpol aswell (she hates it)

How does / will(?!) the four month sleep regression ever end?

I think we’ve been in it for seven weeks now. It started the night he turned 12 weeks and he’s nearly 20 weeks now. I’ve seen things saying babies just grow out of it but how long do we wait? How long was it for all of you?

I am losing my marbles. Broken nights for this long are ruining us all. My baby wakes up miserable because he’s had such a broken night, I am a zombie, and my husband feels guilty being off at work and leaving the two of us.

And it feels like it’s getting worse, not better. Now, we aren’t even getting a longer stretch unbroken at the start of the night, it really is literally every hour the entire night long.

Baby’s naps are awful too. If I can fix them, will the nights improve, or is it the other way round?

Do I keep just waiting this out?

Advice for 1 year old jabs

Do they have 3? 2 in 1 leg and 1 in the other leg? How do they find it as they are so much more aware now! Do I give calpol straight away? Thank you x

Worried about something going wrong!

Am I the only one that has anxiety when left at home all day with my 3 month old when my other half is in the office? He wfh 3 days a week, and my anxiety is minimal when he is home. I constantly find myself watching videos on how to do CPR or what to do when he chokes on something now that he has the ability to hold things albeit still learning and im not leaving anything within reach of him swallowing anything he shouldn't. Is it because its right bang in the middle for potential of SIDS and will the anxiety ease up as he gets closer to the age of 1? Anyone else feeling the same?

Formula feeding at night

Hey all, I was planning to mainly breastfeed but due to an emergency c section and a tonne of blood pressure drugs my milk did not kick in for a long time and we have had to buy ready made formula bottles.
As I've not prepped too well for this, any advice on how to do night time feeds? I've heard so many different things and ways for example "hot shot" method etc but wondered what is your night time routine? The idea of going downstairs each time to make a bottle is making me feel nauseous hahah
