So tomorrow we find out school places.. how does everyone feel? Is anyone choosing for their child to attend part time or even home ed instead?

How is everyone feeling? I feel very emotional and scared knowing my first born will be starting fulltime school in September 🥺 Please teach your children to be kind!

My son is 3 in December this year when do we apply for primary school as he will be starting in January 2025 I think

What’s everyone’s working/childcare arrangements atm? How many hours do you work, family help with care?, nursery, childminders etc? Feel like my current situation isn’t working and need a change but unsure how to make it work

Is there any way to change the child benefit to be paid monthly instead of weekly? Just thinking it’d be easier to buy it all in bulk when I have all the money at once instead of going the shop every week to buy the things as we only have a co op near us and the pampers are £7 for 20🫣

I found a few childminders locally who are a good option but I’m a bit surprised by their contracts. 1) they take 6 weeks holidays a year and you still have to pay them but they reduce the daily rate by a third 2) don’t work bank holidays and you still have to pay 3) charge £15 a day extra if you use government fund...

My little boy loves nursery and he’s come on so much since he started and he gets very bored at home. I work 3 days a week and I also have a baby at home. Am I mean for considering sending my toddler to nursery an extra day whilst I’m off to spend some time with the baby?

My little one is 9 months in August. I return to work October from maternity leave. I plan to return part time and dad works full time. Ideally I would like her to be settled into nursery before I return to work. When would I apply for free childcare hours please? And how do I do this?
