How to choose the right demon baby name

A few things worth thinking through before you commit:

  • Will it age well? Names like Lilith, Damien, and Mara are dark in origin but feel completely wearable for a child, a teenager, and an adult. Names like Beelzebub… less so.
  • What's the nickname situation? Asmodeus becomes Ozzy. Persephone becomes Percy or Effie. Mephistopheles becomes Mephisto. Always think ahead.
  • How do you feel about explaining it? Some demon names will prompt zero questions (Cain, Mara, Blake). Others will require a mythology lesson at every birthday party (Focalor).
  • Does it fit your last name? Dark names can be softened by cheerful surnames and vice versa. Say it out loud with your last name a few times.
  • Trust your gut. If it sounds right, it probably is. You'll know.

Demon names are having a full renaissance — and honestly, we get it. Whether you're drawn to the ancient mythology, the pop culture references, the sheer sound of the name, or the fact that your kid will be the only one in their class with it, there's a demon name out there for every parent and every baby.

From the hauntingly beautiful (Persephone, Mara, Samael) to the genuinely edgy (Lucifer, Abaddon, Kali) to the surprisingly wearable (Damien, Cora, Loki, Nyx), this list has something for everyone. Whatever you choose, you're giving your baby a name with history behind it.

Induction or elective c section?

Hi ladies, I am 40+1 today. I had a sweep on Friday where my midwife told me my cervix was soft (which she said was good) but it was still high up (Not so good). She's booked me in for another sweep on Friday and she also booked me for an induction this Sunday coming (1 week after my due date which was yesterday). I felt more told than asked which was also not ideal. Ideally I go into labour naturally this week but I am really considering opting for an elective c-section over an induction. What are everyone's thoughts?

Anyone with experience of either it would be really helpful to hear from you as I am a FTM and I have seen research that induction often leads to C-section anyway.

Labour inducing tricks!

I’m 39 weeks and 2 days and I need natural ways to get this baby out. I’ve tried walking, exercising, being intimate, doing things I enjoy (to release oxytocin), raspberry tea, dates (on and off as I really don’t like them), ball exercises, colostrum, and I think that’s it so far. Any other tricks I’m not currently trying? Or any of the above that worked for you that I could try more of. I’m willing to try anything that’s safe at this point!

16 week midwife appointment

I had my 16 week midwife appointment when i was 18 weeks. I just felt like it was a waste of time, she checked my BP and that was it. Said she’ll next see me at around 24 weeks. We didn’t get to listen to the heartbeat or anything
